Let's face it. Technology is synonymous with college at this point. Whether you're using your phone or an iPad, here is a list of all the must-have apps that I would not have survived college without.
1. Grammarly
A complete necessity to make sure you don't end up looking like you don't know how to write properly. There's no harm in having a second pair of eyes (metaphorically of course) look over your essay or email to a professor.
2. Groupme
Almost all courses in college have a Groupme with your classmates. A great way to ask questions about homework or important dates, even if you don't know anyone in the class.
Make sure to link your Groupme account to your school email. The group is usually created through the class roster from your school's site. If your account is linked to your personal email, you might miss out on joining.
3. Venmo
Okay, not school-related I know. But, Venmo is absolutely essential to make it through college. Venmo makes splitting grocery or electric bills with your roommates a breeze.
4. LinkedIn
It may seem too early to start worrying about your future as a young professional. But, I assure you, it is not. Use linkedIn to start making connections and establishing yourself in your respective field.
5. Google Drive
Attach the Google Drive app on your phone or iPad to your school account for easy access to all your assignments and projects. I can't count the amount of times I didn't have access to my laptop and needed to check or tweak an assignment.
6. Quizlet
One of the most shocking things about college to me was how relevant Quizlet is. I didn't realize how often professors recycle their own (and even other's) assignments from previous years. Especially true for GenEd classes, a TON of your homework (and even test) answers can be found on quizlet.
7. Blackboard
You'll definitely want to add the Blackboard website to the favorites bar on your laptop. But, a lot of people don't realize that Blackboard also has an app form. Download the app to have access to your class materials 24/7.
8. Chegg
I can genuinely say that I am not sure I would have graduated college without the help of Chegg. Chegg is a paid subscription that gives you an all-access pass to expert answers for your course questions.
With Chegg's app, you can simply snap a picture of the question you're having trouble with. And, usually within an hour or so, you'll get an answer and explanation.
9. Mint
Managing your finances in college can be scary and overwhelming. Mint helps you set a budget and keep track of all your spending. So, you can spend less time worrying about money and more time studying for that exam.
10. Notability
If you have an iPad, Notability is a must. Gone are the days of lugging around 5 different spiral notebooks in your backpack. With Notability you can handwrite notes straight to your iPad.
Another plus is that all of your notes are in one place. Download it to your phone too to sync your notes right into the palm of your hand.
11. Mathway
Another essential app for homework help. Mathway is an app that lets you enter any math problem and spits out the solution and a step-by-step explanation.
12. Starbucks
Because how else are you going to get through cramming for exams? Save time and earn rewards by mobile-ordering through the Starbucks app.
13. Amazon
From textbooks to dorm-friendly appliances, Amazon has you covered. And get anything at your doorstep in just two days when you sign up for a Prime membership. Plus, Amazon helps out college kids specifically and gives us half-off our membership!
College is hard, but luckily technology is here to help. Download these must-have apps for college students to help make it through college like a pro.
