It’s no secret that Amazon Prime spent their quarantine diving head-first into the streaming industry. Prime Video quickly went from being a place where you can access random documentaries to a full-fledged streaming service that rivals Netflix. And, with their recent purchase of MGM (for close to 9 billion dollars), their TV selection is about to get even better!
Prime Video used to be the streaming service you forgot you were subscribed to. But those days are long gone. So, I’m here to share the best shows to stream and binge-watch with Amazon Prime. And- they’re all included with your Prime membership for free!
I seriously think I finished all six seasons of Downton Abbey in a span of maybe 72 hours! If you enjoy historical dramas, this is the perfect show for you. Downton Abbey follows the story of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants as they face new changes and challenges. Set in the early 1900’s, the show incorporates major events from the period including the start of WW1, Spanish Influenza, and rise of the working class.
You will quickly fall in love with all the characters- both upper-class and servants alike. Downton Abbey is perfect to binge on a relaxing weekend!
If you never got the chance to watch How I Met Your Mother (like me) before Netflix dropped it, Amazon has you covered! Or maybe you just want to binge it again!
HIMYM follows Ted Mosby and his group of friends in Manhattan as he is “telling“ the story of how he met the mother of his children. The show has a cult-like following for a reason. So, take advantage of your Prime Video and start How I Met Your Mother today!
One of my all-time favorite shows. Suits depicts exactly what you imagine the life of a prestigious Manhattan legal firm to be like. Scandals, coverups, courtroom action, and a real-life princess (Megan Markle), Suits has it all.
The show follows college dropout, Mike Ross, as he somehow lands a job at a law firm that only hires Harvard Law graduates. Despite having never attended law school.
Revenge gives a little insight into the lives of the rich and powerful- and exactly how they use that power. Set in the Hamptons, Emily VanCamp is the new girl on the block- or so you think. Back in the Hamptons under a new identity, Emily has an agenda to get revenge on the people who took away her father and ruined her childhood.
In my opinion, Teen Wolf is the least cheesy show in the world of vampires and wolves. The show follows Tyler Posey and his best friend Stiles (Dylan O’brien) as they navigate Tyler’s newfound challenges he faces with becoming a werewolf.
Teen Wolf does phenomenal job of balancing the supernatural aspect of Tyler’s life with the challenges he faces as a normal high school student.
Dexter is a bloodstain analyst for Miami PD by day and vigilante serial killer by night. Using his sociopathic tendencies and bloodlust for good, Dexter spends his free time hunting down serial killers that slipped through the justice system.
Dexter will somehow have you start to like and almost feel sorry for serial killers and sociopaths.
Dr. Gregory House, a medical genius with minimal bedside manner, works to diagnose patients based on medical oversight. House constantly clashes with his coworkers (and sometimes boss) because they are the source of oversight that his hypotheses are centered around.
If you don’t already have Amazon Prime, make sure to sign up now! Plus- Amazon understands the life of a college student and gives you a student discount of 50%!
